Vase, 1929, Glass, 7 1/8 × 4 1/2 × 4 1/2 in. ( × × cm), Glass, This piece was made using the cire-perdue, or “lost wax,” method, more traditional to bronze sculpture but perfected by Lalique for glass. A full-scale model of the design carved in wax would be covered with plaster; after the wax was melted, molten glass was poured into the reserve, which was broken away after the glass had solidified
