Recently there has been concern from Kenyans after a leaked letter written by the American Petro-Chemical Lobby Group, urging American Trade Negotiators to request Kenyan government to lessen its tough stance on plastic restrictions and to make Kenya an American plastic production hub for Africa. Many have interpreted this as a scheme to lift Kenya’s 2017 plastic bag ban hailed as the strictest globally.
