'Chas. Edward (The Pretender) And Flora Macdonald', (mid 19th century). Flora MacDonald (1722-1790) helped the Jacobite pretender Charles Edward Stuart ('Bonnie Prince Charlie', 1720-1788) to escape after his defeat by the English at the Battle of Culloden (1745) in the Highlands of Scotland. He hid in a cave on the Isle of Skye for 5 days in 1746. [John Tallis & Company, London & New York]
