SOUTH CHINA SEA (Nov. 5, 2017) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd (DDG 100), assigned to the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (CSG), transits the South China Sea. The Nimitz CSG is on a scheduled deployment in the 7th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
