Scugog Lake, one of the Kawartha Lakes, is the southerngateway to a continuous chain of lake and river navigation in aland of plenty and pleasant scenery. In this lake is Scugog Island,containing 8,000 acres of well-cultivated farms, including the Indianvillage of the Massauga tribe, with a reserve of 800 acres. Scugog Lake, only sixteen miles from Lake Ontario, is 578 feetabove that lake.
