Seen through golden winter reeds is part of a moat that once defended a fortified manor house near Little Staughton Bedfordshire, England
Golden winter Reeds with a glimpse of part of the moat that formed the defences of a large fortified manor house near Little Staughton on the Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire border. The earthworks and moat are all that remain of where the house stood amongst fields isolated from the village. The house was the stronghold of Sir Adam de Creeting, a knight of Edward I.
