Conjoined twins. 18th-century journal page illustrating the front and rear aspects of conjoined twins born in Domremy-la-Pucelle, Lorraine, France, on 24 December 1722. The account given by Fevry, one of the surgeons of the Duke of Lorraine, named the 44-year-old mother as Sebastiana Camus. The twins died two months after the birth. For the skeletons, see C011/2277. This page is from volume 7 of the 1734 edition of 'The Philosophical Transactions', an abridged collection of papers from the Royal Society. The original paper describing the birth was published in 1723 in volume 32 of 'Philosophical Transactions'.
