Devotees gather around the Shrine of saint Sheikh Ahmed Karim, at the Pir Panjal Pass, also called Peer Ki Gali, about 100kms, south of Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir. The Pir Panjal Pass, is a mountain pass and a tourist destination located in the Pir Panjal Range of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the highest point on the Mughal road at 3,490m, above sea level. Mughal road, as the name suggests, was historically created and used by Mughal emperors. It was the route that Akbar took to conquer Kashmir in 1586.
