Rhiroy broch on the hillside above W shore of Loch Broom, Wester Ross: remains of an Iron Age fort surrounded by modern sheep pens & stone dumps.

Rhiroy broch on hillside above the W shore of Loch Broom. Incomplete remains of an Iron Age fort surrounded by modern sheep pens & excavation stone dumps. Excavated 1968 by Euan MacKie who considered it a semibroch: a dun with broch-like features. Possibly was a full broch whose downhill galleried wall was on a solid base & has fallen over the eroded cliff.
