Taken from the Jaggar Museum and Hawaii Volcano Observatory, Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. AKA 'The Fire Pit', Halemaumau Pit Crater is thought to be home to the Hawaiian Goddess of Fire, Pele. Halemaumau means 'house of everlasting fire'.
