Low water level in a tributory river in the Upper Derwent Valley in the Derbyshire Peak District 2018

Howden Reservoir is the upper of three reservoirs in the Upper Derwent Valley in the Peak District of Derbyshire. The three reservoirs , Howden,Derwent and Ladybower, are linked by the River Derwent flowing through the valley. In the hot summer of 2018 the water levels were down below 50% as shown in this image. The dam was completed in 1912. The Dam Busters, 617 squadron, used the dams for practice before their daring raid into Germany in World War II.
