Turbosound quality control testing. Technician preparing loudspeakers for sound quality testing before export. These are TMW112 monitor wedges with co-axial 12-inch drivers. Made by UK company Turbosound, they are designed to produce 122 decibels of sound. The steel grille covers (not in place here, one being handled at top) are placed over the loudspeaker horns. The speaker cabinets are birch plywood, with a coating of polyurethane. Turbosound, formed in the late 1970s and based in Sussex, won a 2012 Queen's Award for Innovation. Photographed in 2012.
