All the members were enthusias- tic over the outlook for the Christmas trade. The publicity committee chairman, Geo. M. Geraghty, reported as to the work of the committee in Christmas ad- vertising. Both growers and retailers had supported the advertising fund lib- erally, with the result that effective ad- vertising was made possible. It was de- cided to use the Sunday papers and some of the daily papers. The advertising committee also re- ported on the "Say It with Flowers" signboards. It was decided that the growers located at the entrances to the city should have the first chance to pur- chase the signs and several have been sold. Several of the members wanted signs, but will have to take second chance. It was decided to unite with the Gar- deners' and Florists' Association in staging a flower show next year. The president will appoint the committee. S. A. Frost is scheduled to read a paper at the January meeting. The con- veners of the social and entertainment committees were instructed to make ar- rangements for the annual dance in January. The date will be announced later. Carl Grobba was congratulated on the splendid show which he staged for the benefit of the trade at his greenhouses. Steps will be taken to stop Sunday selling. Power has been given author- ities to secure evidence and see that offenders are punished. In February a St. Valentine's social will be held. Various Notes. F. R. Pierson. of Tarrytown, N.
