But more and better than this is therecord of a broad and generous citizenship, whichshared his success with others, that was always readyto help his neighbors and workmen towards a self-sustaining independence, and to-day that part of thetown where bis life was passed bears witness to bisgenerous and unselfish enterprise, and is his bestmonument.
