The last three days of the journey to the capitalare comparatively uninteresting across the plain, butwe saw a quaint wedding journey as we left the hillcountry. First came four musicians, making a noiseextremely like a bad performance on the pipes. Nextrode the bridegroom, heavily adorned with scarlet andpink rosettes and sashes ; his pony also decorated withscarlet, followed by a couple of men riding. Thencame the scarlet wedding sedan-chair, sadly dilapidatedby age and negleft, conveying the bride. She wasfollowed by a finely dressed woman, riding, and oneor two other people.
