The heavy frost last week evidently did not hit all the outdoor stock in some places, as some of the markets had a considerable number of dahlias, cosmos, tuberoses, asters and feverfew. These cleaned up well. All kinds of greens cleaned up daily, especially asparagus, smilax and adian- tum. Common flat ferns and galax also had a good week. Florists' Club Meets. The St. Louis Florists' Club held a most interesting meeting October 13 at Kirkwood, Mo., at the establishment of the W. A. Rowe Floral Co. The weather was just right to bring out a large at- tendance and when President Rowe called the meeting to order, there were eighty-five itienibcrs present, with all the officers at their respective posts. A great deal of ]ireliminaiy business came up for transaction. The trustees reported through Chair- man A. W. Gumz, who announced that the November meeting of the club would be held at the greenhouse range of Philip Goebel, Jr., at Webster Groves, Mo., on the invitation of Philip Goebel. The committee of five to organize the new Allied Florists' Trade Association reported through \V. J. Pilcher, in the absence of Bourdot, that the now organization had been formed, that a board of nine directors had been elected and that ollicers would be elected at the next meeting of directors.
