The Blue Hill Nurseries staged a fine bank of herbaceous perennials, including some excellent asters and seedling phloxes. P. & W. O. Jahn, of East Bridge- water, are shipping to W. H. Carr a fine assortment of carnations. En- chantress Supreme sells remarkably well. Other good sorts are Benora, Pink Delight, Matchless, White En- chantress and Beacon. Fred !L. Sly, of South Stoughton, has been shipping in single violets for a couple of weeks. Both his singles and doubles are looking well. William R. Morris, of Wellesley Hills, is sending in fine shipments of Ophelia, Eichmond, Killarney and White Killarney roses. He has other varieties which will soon be in season. The directors of the Boston Flower Exchange have declared to stockholders an annual dividend of fifteen per cent. The annual meeting will be held Oc- tober 23. The Houghton-Gomey Co. had at- tractive displays of orchids and dahlias in the windows October 2, Andrew Christensen, of Stoneham, still finds Queen a profitable white car- nation to grow. He had no trouble in getting $3 per hundred for them Oc- tober 2. Alice and Matchless are each doing well with him. From the Mishawum Flower Co. some fine Smith's Advance and Golden Glow mums are coming in, Thomas Eoland, of Nahant, is also sending in
