Students are being classified as to the condition of their.•..earts on the basis of the usual methods of Physical diagnosis and thetaking of the blood pressure. This instrument would make it possible for a num-ber of students who now have to be disqualified for military, regular phy-sical education, and atretics to participate in these subjects. If theirelectrocardiograms could be shown to be normal, it would add a good dealto the efficiency and peace of mind of those who are harrassed by the per-sistent thought of having heart trouble, but who may have only functionaldisturbances of the heart and have to be restricted in their exercise be-cause of the necessity of playing safe when in doubt. V. Albuminurics A total of 227 freshmen who were found to have albuminuria attheir first examination were kept under observation.
