Distribution.—Most of the specimens in this collection were taken in the Bering Sea area, thereby confirming Richter's record of 1884 from this area. I have (1933) recorded a specimen from British Co- lumbia and it is also known from off the coast of Labrador (Rodger, 1895) and from Franz Josef Land (now Fridtjof Nansen Land)..
