A silver-mounted Ottoman yatagan, circa 1800 Typical, slightly curved single-edged blade, with silver inlaid script and ornamental inlays over the entire surface of both sides. A filigree blade mounting and grip frame set with coral (minor defects on the back of the blade). The silver grip is finely embossed with vine and floral designs against a matt background. Heavy silver scabbard with the entire surface embossed en suite, a filigree decorated locket, and a shell-shaped chape button. Length 83 cm.
