A Coast Guard "Duck" Takes To The Sea. Coast Guardsman launch a reconnaissance plane from the deck of their cutter somewhere in the Pacific. In a matter of seconds skilled hands man the boat crane that lifts the plane from its cradle and lowers it over the side. Two Coast Guardsmen ride the wings in the launching process to keep the ship in balance. Once in the sea, the lines are cast off and the "Duck" as the crewmen call it skims the surface and flies away.
