Wholesale Growers and Shippers 35 Saint Anne Street SAN FRANCISCO, CAL. Bush street, has just changed hands and is going into the business of ship- ping, in addition to its local trade. B. T. Shiniizu is the new projjrietor. The nurseries are in Alameda county. Bon voyage baskets of fruit and Howers are now being sent as freely as ever to the outgoing steamships, ac- cording to Mrs. Copeland, of the Misses Hannon store. This firm has special- ized in baskets and has a new line from tlie Hawaiian islands. Frank D. Pelicano, of Pelicano, Rossi & Co., states that the dahlia space is practically all taken for the show of the Dahlia Society of California, which takes place at the Palace hotel, San Francisco, in September. Mr. Pelicano has just called one of his most admired ;{ year-old dahlias Miss O. D. Baldwin, after an amateur grower whom he has known for many years as an ei\thusi- ast. The flower, which has a good, straight stem, is almost the hue of an American Beauty rose. A beautiful white seedling has been named Eva, after Mr. Pelicano's daughter. Two other s])lendid seedlings, shown in the store, are unnamed. Other products of Mr. Pelicano's dahlia farm, the tuba begonias, are becoming highly popular as corsage bouquets, because of their beautiful pastel colors and luxuriant size. One of the windows in the store of the Charles C. Navlet Co. has a novel exhibit that attracts constant crowds. In theatric styl(\ a new seedling, the Pearl Fenton, is displayed within a handsome gold frame, as if it were on a miniature stage. The Pearl stands in a vase, against a back-drop repre- senting a sunset effect. Electr
