The total number of men in .the repair shop and in the carhouses engaged in repairs, varies from 300 to 350, accordingto the time of year. Worn at the repair snops is carried onduring nine hours. The working day during five days in theweek is slightly longer than nine hours, allowing the shopsto close two hours earlier Saturday afternoon. Each work-man registers the time of entrance and departure on a timeclock placed at the shop door, and the time so registered servesas a basis for the pay roll.
