Entrance to an old Japanese chaya, or tea house showing traditional shoji (sliding doors of translucent waxed paper).

Entrance to an old Japanese chaya, or tea house. Traditional shoji doors, made of paper over a wooden frame, slide in front of a circular opening, with a steep wooden staircase behind. The doll is a polite way to say 'not open to the public'.
