In 1877 Mr. McKinney became associated with theNiles Tool Works and within two years was elected secre-tary of the company. A short time later he became treasurerand general manager. While with this company he hadgained the title of Colonel through his service on the staffof Governor Bushnell, of Ohio. During the reorganizationof the Niles Tool Works, necessitated on account of the rap-idly expanding business, Colonel McKinney was Col. R. C. McKinney
