Nostalgic postcard from the first world war framed and standing in front of a decorated traditional Christmas tree

During the first world war french photographer Alfred Noyer produced a series of illustrated photocards with a patriotic theme. This card has a Christmas message too and may have been sent either to or from troops on the front line. This card shows a little boy holding the French flag and a British Ensign style banner together with a large bunch of mistletoe. Here the card has been framed and photographed in front of a traditionally decorated Christmas tree to bring a poignant reminder of the mix of emotions experienced by troops and their families during conflicts at this festive season.
