Hundreds of thousands descended on Washington DC for the inaugural ceremony & parade of the US's 45th President, Donald Trump. Many male supporters wore red baseball caps with the phrase "Make America Great", while women in large numbers wore fur coats in spite of the moderate temperatures. Activists protesting the inauguration of President Trump gathered at Union Station before rallying & marching to several different locations. At several points police made arrests or had to dodge bricks & other thrown debris, responding with pepper spray, beanbag rounds & white powder. Activists continued to block certain streets throughout the night, sometimes starting bonefires from available materials, including a limousine parked on K Street that was initially vandalized before being burned out.
