The musical "Aladdin" by Disney at the New Amsterdam Theatre in the Theater District in New York on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Twenty years ago Disney debuted its first musical in Times Square, "Beauty and the Beast", and since that time 28 million people have seen numerous Disney Theatrical Productions musicals on Broadway. Disney investments in the theaters were one of the elements that was part of the resurgence of Times Square turning it from a seedy, crime-infested landscape to the tourist-friendly entertainment district that it is now.
