Berlin, Germany. 20th March 2016. Carnival of Refugees (Carnival al-lajiìn_al-lajiàat) takes to the streets. Refugees and migrants sang, danced and told stories in Berlin Streets today in an effort to make their plight visible to Germany and the World. The Carnival parade began at the historic former Tempelhof airport where hangars are being used as emergency refugee accommodation and terminated at Spreewaldplatz. The carnival was proposed by the self organised theatre group RCI (Refugee Club Impulse) and supported by ‘My right is your Right’, a collective of groups and individuals supporting freedom of movement and human rights. The carnival opposed racism and was an appeal for a life of to stay, to move freely and to earn a living. Eden Breitz/Alamy Live News
