PERKES, William Henry, assistantsecretary and librarian of the Gen-ealogical Society of Utah from 1896to 1900, was born at Dudley, Worces-tershire, England, a son of HenryPerkes and Charlotte Lowe. He joinedthe Church in 1851 and was called towork in the business office of theheadquarters of the British Missionat Liverpool in 1856. He emigratedto Utah in 1865 and became a book-keeper in the Deseret News officeunder the direction of George Q. Can-non. He was an ardent genealogistand an efficient aid in the Genealog-ical Society of Utah from 1896 to hisdeath, which occurred in Salt LakeCity June 5, 1900. He was survivedby his wife and six children. REYNOLDS, George, a member ofthe board of directors of the Geneal-. and died Aug. 9, 1909, in Salt LakeCity as one of the First Council ofSeventies. (See Bio. Ency., Vol. 1, ; Vol. 3, p. 771.)
