Fluzone, Influenza Virus Vaccine
This is a 5 milliliter vial containing the Influenza Virus Vaccine, Fluzone, distributed by Aventis Pasteur, USA. According to the product text, the optimal vaccination period is October through November, for influenza activity usually begins in November or December, peaking in late December, and is strongly recommended for people 6 months of age or older. Fluzone is a split-virus vaccine that is produced by chemical disruption of the influenza virus. Therefore, it is incapable of causing influenza. Fluzone was initially approved in 1980 by the FDA.
