Menthol vapor is also useful in spasmodic croup. (See Part IV.) Emplastrum Menthol, B. P., is used as a mild local irritant and anesthetic. PEPSIN. Pepsinum, U. S. and B. P., is the digestive ferment of the gastricjuice. That sold in the shops is generally derived from the pig,and is prepared by manufacturers in many ways.
