Tunnel
The legendary Tunnel on the Jing Peng section of the Ji-Tong Railway in Inner Mongolia. This superb location could only be reached after a difficult mountain climb and frequently the prevailing west wind would blow the exhaust over the train, sometimes obliterating it entirely. Having emerged from the tunnel on a perfectly still day, two former China Railway’s QJs leave wraiths of steam oozing out of the tunnel mouth. December 2004
