Gladioli and asters are still the pre- dominating features of the market. Chrysanthemums are beginning to ar- rive in limited quantities, but a fine cut is promised, since stock never iQoked better than at present. Eoses are being brought in by most of the growers and are starting now to give good length of stem. Lilies, sweet peas, marigolds and dahlias help to give a variety. Various Notes. Peters & Sons, of Hillyard, Wash., have bought a new Eepublic truck to take care of the fuel for the winter, as that firm is burning shavings and finds it profitable. The stock is the finest they have ever had and they will soon be cutting heavily in mums. A. Eeim, of Eugene's Flower Shop, is on the sick list. Mr. Bernson, of Glenrose Green- houses, is the proud father of a baby boy. H. Hill has returned from his vaca- tion and is now with Hoyt Bros. Co., having resigned his position with A. J. Burt. Miss Helen Burt, of Jack Burt's Flower Shop, has returned from her vacation, spent at Seaside, Ore. E. Hill, , Ida., and his brother were visitors in this town. The regular meeting of the Florists' Club was held at the Spokane hotel September 4. The chief topics were co- operative advertising and the finding of the cost price of production.
