This waslengthened and perhaps rebuilt later in the 13 thcentury, and the tower was added about 1340. Itmay have replaced one of earlier date and contains agreat many stones worked with late 12th-centuryornament. In the bell-chamber there are a numberof fragments of this date (described in detail below)belonging to the jambs of a doorway or arch. A. The east window of the chancel consists of threetrefoiled lancets with soffit cusps, the middle lightbeing of greater width than the others ; the traceryis re-worked or modern, but the widely splayed innerjambs and the two-centred drop rear arch areoriginal. In the south wall is a small piscina with a cham-fered two-centred arch ; the chamfer is stopped outabove the sill, which has a shallow round basin, andthere is also a shelf in the back.
