Large, fragrant, double rose-colored flowers appearing in early spring and pro- duced in great abundance. .$ P. Piscardii. [Piscard's Purple-leaved Plum.] Sm. A new and very valuable tree of greatest merit, producing showy, single white flowers in spring, fol- lowed later by quite desirable fruit. The foliage is of the deepest blood-red, and does not change in color even in the hottest sun. A desirable lawn tree of neat, upright habit of growth, and very vigorous. The twigs in winter are conspicuously glossy black. 75 cents. P. serotina. [Wild Black Cherry.] Med. A valu- able, rapid-growing timber tree, producing excellent lumber of value for cabinet-work.
