The Norman Keep of Carrickfergus Castle with fishing boat


Carrickfergus Castle is one of the best preserved Norman Castles in Ireland. It was built by John de Courcey soon after his 1177 invasion of Ireland. Famous as the landing place of William of Orange, William III in 1690.
