Front view of the Governor's Palace in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, against a bright blue sky
The Governor's Palace was the home for nine governors from 1722 to 1780 including Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson. This Georgian-style home was the venue for balls and galas for large numbers of people. The restored colonial town of Williamsburg is a living history museum, a major tourist attraction, and also is a popular destination for conferences and meetings of world leaders.
