Medieval city of Sighisoara (Transylvania, Romania)


Sighişoara citadel was built in the 12th century, by the German craftsmen and merchants (known as Transylvanian Saxons), following the order of Hungarian King to colonize Transylvania and protect the border of his kingdom. Sighişoara is one of the few fortified towns in the Eastern Europe which is still inhabited, very well preserved.
