There is less of a glut of these flowers than there was before Easter. Daffodils are holding up well. Outdoor daffodils are now in season. Only a limited number of tulips are seen. Freesia has disap- peared. Callas are abundant and much lower in price; the same holds true of lilies. Antirrhinums continue slow sellers. This is strange, as they are most satis- factory keepers, have pleasing colors and are most decorative. Calendulas are low and bachelor's buttons continue on the down grade. Pansies are in heavy supply, with prices low. Good yellow marguerites sell well and bring as much as fancy carnations. Gardenias are abundant and cheaper. Cattleyas are now mainly Mossia;. A limited number of other orchids are seen, mainly cypripediums. Boston Florists' Association. A monthly meeting of this associa- tion was held at the City Club April 12. President B. F. Letson presided over a moderate attendance. The principal business of the evening was a splendid address by E. H. New- comb, of the transportation department of the Boston & Maine railroad. The sufferings of the railroads under gov- ernment control, labor and its con- tinued demand for shorter hours, with greater inefiiciency and more pay, and the many other tribulations of the country's steam carriers made florists feel that they were not the most afflicted class after all, and they ha
