I called in the Superintendent of the Gas Com-pany, and laid my troubles, as well as plans, before him, andrequested his help. We used two pieces of gas pipe six feetlong for the uprights, and one piece five feet long for thecross piece from which seven Wellsbach inverted gas burnerswere suspended—each burner being fitted with a reflex in- 244
