Giimbel also re-cognises a species of Eozoon in the equivalent rocksof Bavaria (see p. 213). It is evident that here we have approached thelimit of the higher forms of marine invertebratelife, having as yet nothing to show except wormsand Protozoa. It is to be observed, however, thatthere may be somewhere Huronian deposits formedin deep and quiet waters, which may give betterresults, and that the unconformity between theHuronian and overlying Kewenian may indicate alapse of time, of which monuments may yet be found.
