Breast cancer surgery. Image 15 of 20. Metal retractors (top centre, upper and lower right) are being used to hold back the tissue surrounding the tumour. In this procedure, tumours are being removed from the breast and axillary (underarm) lymph nodes as part of a wide local excision (WLE) operation.
