A rather aberrant species, with short wings, which should, per-haps, be separated generically. The j-ellow on the sides of the head,surrounding the dark olive auricular patch, makes it easily recog-nizable. a. (S ad. sk. Tiicumau (Schillz). Sclater Coll. (One of thetypes of the species.) 48. NESOSPINGUS. Type. Nesospingus, Sclater, Ibis, 1885, p. 273 N. speculifen // / /. Structure of Nesospingus spcculiferus. (Ibis, 18S5, p. 274.) This peculiar form is distinguishable from Chlorospingus (towhich genus it has until recently been referred) by its stouter biU,with the culmen more incurved, and large Friiigilline feet.
