View NE of a Neolithic field outlined by walls of cleared stone: part of an extensive settlement at Scord of Brouster, Shetland, Scotland UK. This enclosure, an irregular oval some 60m long, is uphill from Brouster farm & N of the A971. There is a large oval Neolithic house attached to the N end of the enclosure & there are several other houses positioned within their own fields. The settlement with its houses, field systems & clearance cairns extending over 2 hectares was in use during the late 3rd & early 2nd millennium BC. The settlemnt complex was excavated in the 1970s.
