Argentina Buenos Aires Otamendi Strict Reserve Otamendi is a National protected area created in the 90s to protect Pampean habitats or environments These habitats are grasslands ponds wetlands and flooded grasslands It is very close to Buenos Aires city less than 70 km away and it contains some of the most endangered fauna of the region like wild cats Marsh deers Blastocerus dichotomus and Dusky legged Guan Penelope obscura The reserve reaches one of the branches of the Parana River known as Parana de las Palmas On the other side of the river the Delta of the Parana begins and with it the life of the islands a particular culture within the area A bit of the environment and the people of the delta can be seen and found in the coast of the reserve where a road ends and a boat takes you to the other side
