He at-tended the Reserve Officers Training School at Madison Barracks, NewYork, was commissioned second lieutenant of infantry. He was assignedto the 78th Division, Camp Dix, N. J., and after being stationed there for aperiod of two weeks, was transferred to the 28th Division at Augusta, Ga.,September 8, 1917.
