The beginning of one of Oslo’s famous streets, Karl Johans gate with the Domus Bibliotheca (Law Library) of the University of Oslo on the left of the picture in the centre of Oslo, Norway. The library contains research and reference materials on Scandinavian, German and international law. Oslo, the capital city of Norway, sits on the country’s southern coast at the top of the Oslofjord. Oslo is known for its green spaces, a mix of modern designs and centuries-old architecture. There are many tourist attractions such as museums, some on the Bygdøy Peninsula, including the waterside Norwegian Maritime Museum and the Viking Ship Museum, with Viking ships from the 9th century. In another part of the city is the Holmenkollbakken, a ski-jumping hill with panoramic views of the fjord. It also has a ski museum.
