The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the only Old Believer church in the Tambov region. It was built in 1914. The financing of the construction was carried out by the wife of the richest merchant of Morshansky A. A. Meshov - Maria Ivanovna. The church was closed in 1929. In the 60s of the XX century, the church was turned into a grocery store. On December 12, 1990, it was decided to transfer the building to the balance of the Department of Culture. In the late 1990s, the Old Believers of Morshansk began to seek the return of the temple. On August 17, 2014, Metropolitan Cornelius (Titov) consecrated the Assumption Church. Церковь Успения Пресвятой Богородицы - единственная в Тамбовской области старообрядческая церковь. Построена в 1914 году. Финансирование строительства осуществляла супруга богатейшего моршанского купца А. А. Смесова — Мария Ивановна. Храм был закрыт в 1929 году. В 60-е годы XX столетия церковь превратили в продуктовый магазин. 12 декабря 1990 года было принято решение о передачи здания на баланс отдела культуры. В конце 1990-х годов старообрядцы Моршанска начали добиваться возвращения храма. 17 августа 2014 года митрополит Корнилий (Титов) освятил Успенскую церковь.
