This is not inconsistent with firming sixmgy soils suhsequent to the deep plowing. So'i'ing.—Tht various methods given as suit- able for sowing red clover are the same as those that should he adopted in sowing mammoth clover. (See Page 71.) Tlu amount of seed required to pro- vide pasture will depend upon the fact as to whether it is to be sown alone or in combination with e furnished where mammoth clover is sown along with medium red clover, as the latter grows vigorously in the spring and in the autumn, and the former is at its best in the late spring and early summer.
